An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events Intern to join the Bloom team! We are looking for someone who is confident, organized, and friendly to support all aspects of our events, providing engaging experiences across Bloom and beyond! (If you landed directly on this page, please also visit Join the Team, and About Us.)

You’ll be working alongside our Communication and Programs teams to bridge communities and ecosystems by hosting events like virtual workshops, talks, and speaker series with local artists, entrepreneurs, and trainers. This requires organizing events, inviting speakers, overlooking live streams, and (sometimes, but not always) moderating chat rooms, and helping with attendee outreach. Then there are potential in-person events as well (when the situation allows) – we’ll need your help to organize those too!

This role offers a huge opportunity to learn and grow, giving experience across a broad range of initiatives and programs, learning and working with a really great and diverse team, while being at the heart of delivering exciting and collaborative experiences. 

Responsibilities

  • Proposing new events ideas & content development
  • Ensuring proactive planning, communication, and scheduling of a wide variety of events
  • Track meeting/event requirements and details (headcount; dates; timing; resources needed)
  • Research new virtual and hybrid event platforms
  • Follow up on communicating about the event and promoting it (social media, emails, etc)
  • Sending invitations to participants
  • Ensure the success of the event: animation, support, information
  • Guest follow-up
  • Facilitating with the team, when need be
  • Be present during events to ensure all technical set-ups run smoothly

Requirements

  • Course work or equivalent experience in public relations, communications, marketing, special event execution, stewardship, or non-profit organization preferred
  • Flexible, energetic, and eager to learn
  • Highly self-motivated and ready to self-direct
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Highly professional written communication skills
  • Commitment to superior customer service practices
  • Highly organized, able to define & prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of Zoom, and enthusiasm to learn other event, email and survey tools
  • Comfortable with both an on-site and virtual work environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic and French are plusses
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

Job Details

  • Part-time ok (minimum 2-3 days/week availability)
  • Remote work / partial remote work is ok, though at least some part-time presence in Lebanon is helpful
  • Initial contract is as an “intern”
  • This position is for a paid internship position, up to 6 months long, with a $200/month stipend. We are also committed to making this a valuable internship experience for your continued professional development and personal growth, with a personal learning and growth plan.
